Second Ammendment Task Force

Summary of Monday Night's Second Amendment Task Force Meeting. The following letter was reviewed and unanimously accepted with three minor amendments.  It was then signed by all present, about 120 people.

Let it be known that we, the people of Alaska, stand in recognition of the true principle that whenever a government abandons the purpose for which we have created it and even becomes hostile towards that which it was once a defender of, it is no longer a fit steward of the political power that is inherent in the people and lent to this government with strict conditions.  These conditions are clearly defined in the United States Constitution and understood by the common man.  Furthermore, to the extent that our government violates these conditions, they nullify their own authority, at which point it is our right and duty, not as subjects but as sovereign Americans, to entrust this power to new stewards who will not depart from the laws we have given them.
This being the case, let it be known that should our government seek to further tax, restrict or register firearms or otherwise impose on the right that shall not be infringed, thus impairing our ability to exercise the God-given right to self-defense which precedes all human legislation and is superior to it, that the duty of us good and faithful people will not be to obey them but to alter or abolish them and institute new government laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form as to us shall seem most likely to effect our safety and happiness.

The Big Ideas Presented:

All power rests inherently with the people so logically as a government moves further and further away from the people their power is subsequently diminished.  This would mean that the federal government, being the furthest away from the people would also be the least powerful. This is recognized by the 9th and 10th amendments.  However, the “totem pole” of power, which is supposed to have the people on top, gets inverted when the federal government controls all the money.  This is why the Federal Reserve is so bad for America.  They print trillions of new dollars causing the money you have to become worth less, and you feel this in rising prices.  So, you are broke and the federal government has all the power. At this point they treat our rights as privileges that they can revoke.  Article One, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution addresses this problem and offers the solution (gold backed currency).  If we are going to successfully defend our 2nd amendment rights, and other rights, we must understand how the federal government became so powerful that they are now a threat to us.

Everyone Committed To:

1.    Stand together in non-compliance to further firearm regulations and pledged total support to any of us who may be the first to go to court for not following unlawful laws.

2.    Do our moral duty as a juror and not convict a firearms offense.

3.    Work to understand how the Federal Reserve works.

4.    Conduct ourselves with order and propriety with respect for “higher law” and require the same from government.
5 Things For You to Do This Week

1. Bring 10 more people to the meeting next Monday night at 7 pm.  Location will be announced in a later email.
  2.  Call John Coghill toll free at 1-877-465-3719 and tell him to “reintroduce HR463 and pass it this session so that the judge will have to tell the jury that they can vote according to their conscience regardless of the court’s instructions.”
   3. Call Representatives John Harris - 465-4859
                                          Bill Stoltz – 465-4958
                                          Mike Hawker – 465-4949
Tell them to “introduce a bill that would make it law that the state cannot accept or expend any funds that have any gun control strings attached.”
    4.  Print off the above letter and get a bunch of people to sign and print their name on it so we can run a full page newspaper ad with all our names and show that we are strong in number and in resolve.
    5.  Watch the movie “Money Banking and the Federal Reserve” and understand it.  You can watch it at
